To reduce cogging in iron core linear motors, Tecnotion has taken multiple measures. One is that the magnet plate is constructed with a skewed magnet arrangement that smooths out the movement of the iron core. Another measurement is that Tecnotion iron core motors use a proprietary coil laminate specifically designed to reduce cogging. A sophisticated feedback and control system can also be used in a linear motor system to further compensate for cogging effects.
